Vacation Part 2

Maryland D.C!

After a 13 hour drive with many bathroom and snack stops we made it to D.C!  After a fine nights rest we got up and hit the Metro!   This was my first time riding in a real Metro, so I was a little nervous but very excited!  It was lots of fun!

It was really hard to get good pictures of the Metro.  But I thought this one is kinda cool!

Our first stop was the Lincoln Memorial.  My camera died (I had just charged the batteries.....) soon after we got there and I had to buy new ones.  So some of these pictures here are from day one and two.  :)

                                                              Sweet sister Emma.

                                                                             Me. :D

This was the view from the the L.M.   It was cool!   The Reflecting pool was having something done with it and...um...there was not any water in the pool.  But it was fun to see it anyhow. :)

Next was the Vietnam Memorial.   It was so sobering, sad, and very very quite.  It was like everyone, even real young ones knew that this wall was.....real.  Not just names on a wall, but men who had given there lives for us.

Me, Emma, and Momma.  Thinking quietly.

Next was the WW2 Memorial.

It's hard to see, but Me, Emma, Elijah, and Jacob are standing by the Georgia colleum thing there. :)

It was hot, and I really wanted to jump in this water.....but dignity keep me from it.

Then the Washington M.  It was really cool!

I was having a bit of fun with distance pictures here.....
And some fun here.....this is looking up...really really up!

Then a lovely picnic of crackers, cheese, fruit, and nuts.
                                                                                Poppa.

                                                                          Emma.

                                                              Jacob and Elijah.

                                                                            Me.

Some really lovely flowers out side the American  History M.

                                                                  Inside the A.H.M.

I was thrilled to see one of my favorit characters of Star Wars,  C3PO.   Way cool!!!
He does not really like living behind glass but he puts a good face of things. (as always)  :)
A very nice sort of chap he was.   I asked him if I could put his pics. on my blog and he said "of course, but don't make to big fuss about me.....though I am very smart, and brave, I know over 5000 forms of communication and languages......."   (he went on a good bit after this but I will stop there.)

Also I was thrilled to see Julia Child's kichen.

                                                                 Me with Mrs. Child.

                                                                       Her kitchen.

                                                          Her kitchen again.

These we the highlights of the A.H.M.  :)

I will do a part two of D.C.  Next time.  There was tons to see and do and tons I want to share with ya'll!
Thanks so much for reading!  Lots more to come!!!! :D

A Bit of Exciting News!

I, Sarah Belle, have started something that will change my life forever.   I have really and truly started to learn how to drive a car.

Yeah, I know I am 18 and that should mean (to many people)  that I should already learned how to drive a car when I was at least 15!   But no dear readers,  I have taken my time in this....but not yesterday.

It all started with me asking my big bro for the keys to his car so that I might take it for a drive around our large yard.   Then momma (who was not feeling well but wanted to do this any how) asked me if I wanted to drive down a country road not far from us.   So, thinking that SHE was going do drive out there, then give me the wheel.....I said "alright, um, sure."

But before we were outside mom informed me that I would be going the WHOLE way there and back again!   I was almost on my knees begging not to do this.  (I have a big fear of causing a car accident if I go out on the road)

So, long story short.  I drove on the road!  (Never in my life have I done that...on a real road)   It was scary for me and I still have a lot to learn.  But,  I made it with out doing any damage!

Just thought I would share this bit of exciting news with ya'll and show you a picture of my dream car.

                                                          Way to cute!!! :D

Life's Hard Battles.

Every day Satan is going to and fro about the earth, plotting against the Follower's of Christ (or Knights of the Prince)  seeking to confuse, tempt, and utterly destroy them.   And what he sends our way may be something that looks like fun or inviting for a short time....but if we give into the temptation that he sends our way we will find our selves more lost (not salvation lost) and wondering than we were before.   And he does these things to distract us from focusing on being more Christ-like and following His Word.

Or he may send a hard or even dark situation into our lives, to further distract and cause us to doubt our day to day lives.  It could be anything,  losing a job,  the death of a loved one,  a tense situation with family or friends.  The list could go on and on.

How do we deal with hard and tempting situations?

First we can't deal with this Devil by our selves.   God our Lord and Savior is our great help in troubled times.  We can't do any good by our selves,  only through Him can we fight life's hard battles.    Spending time with Him and spending time in His word is just about the best thing for us when hard stuff comes our way.  Daily prayer, and reading of His word to keep His promises fresh in our minds.  Because we are a very forgetful people, and need to be reminded and refreshed daily.

Also it comes down to the choices that we make and what we allow in to our heart and mind.   Holding fast to the truth and choosing the right things to dwell on can be very hard at times.  But we must hold fast to the truth of Him and His word.   He is faithful!

Knight of the Prince.

If you have never read my favorite series by Chuck Black  called "The Kingdom Series"  or his new books  "The  Knights of Arrethtrae"  Then I must urge you to check out these amazing books that are not only full of adventure and excitement but are also challenging and encouraging. The first series is an alagory of the Bible set in medieval times, and the second is about Knights of the Prince (Christians).
The Prince represents Jesus.  The knights live out their faith conquering many trials and tribulation that Christians go through.   I am honored to call myself a Knight of the Prince, though I could never, no matter how hard I try earn that title.  My Savior opend my eyes years ago telling me I was great sinner, and that with out Him I could never gain eternal life with Him.   This series is so good and so encouraging that I would like to recommend it to any one and every one!

Medieval sword against a blurred background of an ancient...
I encourage you to take up the two edged sword (the Bible)  to fight lifes battles!

To ride hard and sure even when the enemy is pressing in on you!
